Day 1 :

Inca Trail Begins – Acclimatization, History, and First Camp

Early departure between 4:00 and 4:30 a.m. from your hotel in Cusco. We head through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, with a short stop in Ollantaytambo (approx. 45 min) to acclimatize, explore its surroundings, and connect with the energy of the place.

Continue to Km 82, the starting point of the Inca Trail. The hike begins at a gentle pace, ideal for acclimatization and enjoying the environment. Along the way, we visit the first archaeological site: Llactapata, a vestige that anticipates the greatness of the trail.

The day ends in Wayllabamba, where we set up camp surrounded by Andean nature.

Day 2 :

Andean Challenge – From Wayllabamba to Pacaymayo, Crossing the Mythical Warmiwañusca

Start of the day: Depart from Wayllabamba camp (3,000 m.a.s.l.), entering a valley with native vegetation and surprising ecological changes. The initial stretch leads to Yunca Chimpa, a key point for acclimatization before the ascent.

Demanding ascent and memorable views: We climb progressively to Llulluchapampa (3,750 m.a.s.l.), where the landscape opens to the imposing Huayanay Valley. From there, we face the highest pass of the Inca Trail: Warmiwañusca (4,200 m.a.s.l.), also known as “Dead Woman’s Pass” due to the silhouette of its mountains.

Descent and rest: After conquering the summit, we descend along a scenic trail to Pacaymayo (3,600 m.a.s.l.), where the second camp awaits, surrounded by ravines and Andean silence.

Start of the day: From Pacaymayo camp (3,600 m.a.s.l.), we ascend to the second pass of the Inca Trail: Runkurakay (3,860 m.a.s.l.), often shrouded in mist and mystery. This section is less demanding than the previous one but longer, with incomparable archaeological richness.

Encounter with history: During the day, we explore the archaeological complexes of Sayacmarca (the inaccessible city) and Phuyupatamarca (the city above the clouds), revealing Inca engineering and spirituality at its finest.

Descent into abundance: The hike continues to Intipata, with its hanging agricultural terraces, and culminates in Wiñaywayna (2,650 m.a.s.l.), the final camp before Machu Picchu. Its name means “forever young,” and its energy confirms it.

Start of the day: Depart very early from Wiñaywayna (2,650 m.a.s.l.) on a short but emotional stretch. The trail leads through silent paths to Intipunku (Sun Gate), the ceremonial entrance to Machu Picchu. From there, the first view of the citadel at sunrise is simply unforgettable.

Guided visit to Machu Picchu: Arrival around 07:45 a.m. Between 08:00 and 10:00 a.m., we explore its temples, plazas, and terraces, discovering the secrets of its architecture and spirituality.

Return to Cusco: After the visit, descend by bus to Aguas Calientes. In the afternoon, board the Expedition train at 14:55 to Cusco. There, our representative awaits for the final bus transfer to your hotel.
